Been a While
Its been ages since my last post. Do I still have a blog even? I did notice I have a lot of spam comments though…they have all been cleaned out.
As for an update, well, my life has been pretty non-eventful. Since my cousins left, I’ve kept quite busy with work and running (gave up on the push ups, and taken up jogging), and the kids. One weekend my eldest has a birthday party to go do at the movie theatre, but since his brother wasn’t invited (poor kid) I bought us tickets so we could see the movie too. We saw Night At The Museum 2. I’m know the kids enjoyed it, but I have to admit I quite enjoyed it myself. My favourite scene had to be the Darth Vader scene, I thought it was absolutely hilarious (I’m a Star Wars fan in case you hadn’t guessed
). I also took them to see Up, another really good movie! If you have kids (and even if you don’t), I definitely recommend this one.
As for my cooking, I have done anything new. Made a few dishes that I’ve already tried, and with so much work, and things that have to get done, I haven’t had a chance to prepare anything new. Hopefully soon I will cook up something new and share it.
What’s coming up? My parents are having milestone birthdays this year. Mom will be turning 60 next week, and dad turns 65 this weekend. My dad was talking about going on a relaxing vacation somewhere in the southern states, which then turned to a cruise, which then turned into a week in Hawaii, which ended up in, “we’re staying home” and now my sister is coming with her kids for 3 weeks. My dad is so indecisive it drives me crazy! On the plus side its been over a year since I saw my sister, and in that year my younger neice has learned to talk so it should be lots of fun. And my boys have a lot of fun with her older daughter, who is as full of energy as my kids are. I’m sure if they all ran into each other you might actually discover a quark (don’t mind the lame humour….if you get it even, haha).
I hope to blog more often now, and keep things alive so I don’t lose all my readers

lol @ your father’s decision to finally stay at home. But then your sister’s coming with the kids, so that’ll be so much fun, inshaAllah.
Thanks for recommending the movies; will try to watch them this weekend.
Thanks for the update!

Up looks like a cute movie!
I think your parents should go to Hawaii

I really liked the opening of UP but then it kinda fell flat to me. I felt it was too much of a kids movie. I just didn’t really care for the bird. Too bad b/c normally I love pixar. Although, I do miss great disney movies and the songs they have in them.

I took my son to see Up, which was thankfully way over his head because I cried three times! It was so sad! When he was looking through the photo album the last time and saw the pages she’d made I about lost it.
On the plus side, seeing my son fervently clutching the too-big 3D glasses to his tiny face for that long was very, very cute.

I wish I had seen The night at the museum 2 instead of Terminator 3.It was violently boring! Hope you’ll cook up something real interesting and share it with us.Now it’s been sometime oggling at your food!
Also I hope your parents are having a good time enjoying their stay at their home.

I think your parents plan vacations just like mine! In the end, so much easier (and cheaper) to stay home!

nadia: my father is quite indecisive, drives me nuts…even on stuff that doesn’t affect me. I have “fond” memories as a kid with some antics of his.
elena: oh, its been a lot of fun for the boys
masood: welcome back, and the movie was quite good. I liked the first one too.
liya: Up was good! You should see it. As for Hawaii…too late now, maybe next year.
GS: I think I have conclusively determined not to ask you for your opinion on movies…haha. You didn’t like Transformers (the first one) yet you enjoyed T4, lol, and now Up. sigh. You gonna see GI Joe?
TGW: you cried? For Up? We didn’t see the 3D version, but the kids quite enjoyed it still. The 3D version started after ours ended, I didn’t know it was playing at the same theatre.
Lat: I didn’t see T3, and vaguely remember Terminator and T2. So watching T4 for me was just like watching any other non-sequel movie. It was ok at best, not anything to write home about, I agree. As for cooking…hehe…still nothing new. With my sister here, I’m leeching off my parents again
Mezba: money is not a deterrent for my dad when his goal is to go away. He could have gotten the trip for MUCH cheaper but still insisted on paying the higher cost (for good reason, but the offer was there). And by the time things settled, it was too late to do it anyways.
